Pygmy Pet Care If you and your parents think you might want a pygmy hedgehog as a pet, here are the items you need before taking one home:

  • bedding—wood shavings work best.
  • food bowl that is wide and heavy or your hedgehog will dump out the food and play with the bowl!
  • water bottle—a bottle works better than a bowl, which your hedgehog will fill with shavings.
  • hiding place—a shoe box works well.
  • litter box and litter
