MPAA Rating: G
These chickens want out! Ginger tries to rally her poultry comrades, refusing to give up her quest for freedom. But time is running out. Mrs. Tweedy, owner of these rebellious birds, has hatched a plan to make chicken pies. When hope seems to be fading, Rocky, an American rooster, crash lands in the pen. He helps plan an escape. The only downfall of this film (besides Rocky's) is a few tense moments involving the pie-making machine. Also, Mrs. Tweedy is the "bad guy," but her name-calling may be a little much for some viewers. Overall, the pun-filled script and visual effects make this a delightful movie for adults and children.
Distributor: DreamWorks
Actors: The voices of Julia Sawalha as Ginger, Mel Gibson as Rocky, Miranda Richardson as Mrs. Tweedy, Tony Haygarth as Mr. Tweedy, Jane Horrocks as Babs, Benjamin Whitrow as Fowler and others.
