MPAA Rating: PG
Cody Banks is a normal teen guy—except for the fact that he’s a CIA junior agent assigned to save the world. After being drafted at age 13, Cody attends a special CIA training camp to learn self-defense, attack skills and spy doctrine. Two years go by uneventfully, aside from a few scattered acts of bravery, including rescuing a 3-year-old from a runaway car. Then, one day after P.E., Cody gets the call. His assignment? Transfer to a nearby prep school and "get close" to Natalie Connors, the prettiest girl there. He's to use his new friendship with her to gain access to her father's secret laboratory in which evil conspirators are plotting to use cutting-edge nano-technology to take over the world.
Cody does save others at great risk to himself, but he doesn't really work for the CIA to help his country or save the world, he just thinks it's cool. And although the spy gadgets and action in Agent Cody Banks are cool, there are a lot of aspects of this film kids may not want to investigate. Underdressed women, inappropriate language, including some mild profanities and potty talk, and disrespectful attitudes flaw this otherwise clever movie. There is also some gory violence and high-action sequences that might scare younger kids. Sharp detectives will want to think twice before watching this questionable movie.
