Alvin and the Chipmunks

MPAA Rating:PG
Distributor:20th Century Fox
Director:Tim Hill
Starring:Jason Lee as Dave, David Cross as Ian, Cameron Richardson as Claire; voices of Justin Long as Alvin, Matthew Gray Gubler as Simon and Jesse McCartney as Theodore.

Chipmunk siblings Alvin, Simon and Theodore often sing together to fight off the boredom of their lives. But when the tree they live in is chopped down and used as a Christmas tree (while they're still in it), the chipmunks find themselves in the home of Dave, an unsuccessful songwriter. Dave discovers the chipmunks' singing talents and realizes that they can help him make good music.

Alvin and the Chipmunks contains a strong message that family is important, but the bad parts of the movie far outweigh the good. The violence is cartoonish, but the film contains some crude potty humor and rude behavior. These little chipmunks aren't quite a cute and innocent as the originals.
