Gather
- 2 packages of sugar cookie dough
- 8 drops of red food coloring
- 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract

Go
- Set out 1 package of dough until
soft.
- Mix food coloring and peppermint extract
into softened dough.
- Put dough back in refrigerator until stiff.
- On a lightly floured surface, shape 1
tablespoon of plain dough into a 6-inch
rope.
- Repeat step 4 with red dough.
- Place ropes side by side, twist together
and pinch ends to hold.
- Form twisted ropes into a cane.
- Place cookie canes 2 inches apart on an
ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 8 to 10
minutes.
